6. LOCKER SEARCH NOTICE

If a board of education has adopted a policy allowing random searches of student lockers at any time
with or without “reasonable suspicion,” it must post in a conspicuous place in each building with student
lockers a notice indicating that the lockers are the property of the board of education and are subject to
such random searches. O.R.C. § 3313.20 (B).
7. POLICY REGARDING SUSPENSIONS FROM EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The policy must be posted in a central location in each school building of the district. O.R.C. §
3313.664.
8. POLICY PROHIBITING POCKET PAGER OR OTHER ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE
The policy must be posted in a central location in each school building. O.R.C. § 3313.753(B).
9. POLICY REGARDING SUSPENSIONS FROM SCHOOL BUS RIDING PRIVILEGES
The policy must be posted in a central location in each school building of the district. O.R.C. §
3327.014.
10. WARNING OF ANABOLIC STEROIDS
The following warning must be posted in the locker rooms of each of the district’s school buildings that
include any grade higher than sixth grade:
“Warning: Improper use of anabolic steroids may cause serious or fatal health problems, such as heart
disease, stroke, cancer, growth deformities, infertility, personality changes, severe acne, and baldness.
Possession, sale, or use of anabolic steroids without a valid prescription is a crime punishable by a fine and
imprisonment.”
O.R.C. § 3313.752.
11. PUBLIC RECORDS
Each board of education must create a poster that describes its public records policy and display the
poster in a “conspicuous place” in the school office and (apparently) each building office. O.R.C. §
149.43 (E).
