Inspecting the Rotor (2/2)

Checking the runout of the brake rotors

1.

Fasten the dial indicator to the

brake caliper.

2.

With the rotor installed, check the

runout by rotating the wheel hub.

Max value = 0.006” (0.15mm).

3.

Replace the brake rotor or have it

properly resurfaced if the runout is

more than 0.006” (0.15 mm). Also replace if, after resurfacing,

the thickness is below the allowed minimum.
