Rizine and Milk.
Boil a tablespoonful of rizine in a pint of
milk, sweeten with icing sugar, and when cold
strain; add a little grated nutmeg. A glass of
wine, or a tablespoonful of brandy, may be
added if desired.
Rock and Rye.
For this drink, which is an excellent remedy
against sore throats, etc., the best rock candy
syrup and the best rye whisky must be used.
It is made by putting half a tablespoonful of
rock candy syrup into a large wineglass, and
adding rye whisky to taste.
Rue Gin.
To one pint of good English gin add half a
pint measure of rue sprigs nicely picked and
washed; steep for one month, when it will be
ready for use.
