voltage, overhead cable (including new

development with various shaped wires)

and insulated cable, AC type (using high

quality Milliken conductor) or DC type

(using large round compacted cross

sections).

Pourtier has recently made achievements

in the eld of submarine and umbilical

cables with the supply of large armouring

lines and laying-up lines. The company

is continuously extending its range of

machinery to meet customers’ needs.

Leaders in rotating machines, Pourtier

and Setic (also a member of the Gauder

Group), are o ering a wide range of

twisting/stranding solutions to cable

makers and steel rope producers.

On display on the stand will be a tubular

strander module for power cable and steel

rope.

Proton Products will exhibit its core

product range comprising dual and three

plane “superfast” diameter gauges, spark

testers, capacitance monitors, lump and

neckdown detectors, non-contact wire/

cable length gauges and the range of wire

induction preheaters.

PWM

Stand: 09B41

PWM will introduce two new cold pressure

welders: the ST40 for welding strip, and

the HP180T for joining ne/medium wire.

The new ST40 air/hydraulic strip welder

has been developed speci cally for

joining non-ferrous strip and tape used on

armouring lines.

The machine, designed to cold weld strip

and tape with a maximum width of 45mm

(1.772") and a maximum cross sectional

area of 33mm² (0.0514 square inch),

produces reliable bonds stronger than the

parent material without loss of electrical

integrity.

No set up time is required and, like

all PWM welders, the ST40 is low

maintenance, simple and cost e ective to

operate. Mounted on a trolley, the ST40

can be wheeled easily to the work area,

saving e ort and reducing downtime.

The new HP180T air/hydraulic cold welder

for wire 0.3mm to 1.8mm (0.0118" to

0.071") is a versatile machine supplied on

a trolley. It can be handheld (within the

limit of the air supply pipe) if required.

Quick and easy to use, the HP180T enables

the operator to produce strong, consistent

welds without e ort. An alternative

version of the machine (the HP180CP)

can be supplied with its air/hydraulic

booster in a carry pack, making the unit

completely portable.

Also on show will be PWM’s powerful,

energy-e cient electro/pneumatic and

electro/hydraulic rod welders for joining

large rod sections from 5mm to 30mm

(0.197" to 1.181"), and its comprehensive

range of manual cold welders for wire

sizes 0.1mm to 5mm (0.0039" to 0.197").

This includes lightweight hand-held

machines, as well as larger portable

models, which can be used on a

workbench or with a trolley.

PWM cold welding equipment is made

to high quality standards by skilled

technicians in PWM’s own UK workshops.

Dies are individually hand-made in

matched sets, in standard or custom sizes,

to suit round or pro le wire.

Q8Oils

Stand: 11D21

Q8Oils sta will be on hand to discuss its

many recently launched products and

service-led initiatives available for the

worldwide wire, tube and cable market.

These are speci cally developed to

reduce manufacturing costs and increase

productivity.

Q8Oils is a European developer, manu-

facturer and supplier of a comprehensive

range of lubricants for the metal industry,

lubricants for the drawing, rolling and

forming applications of wire, rod, bar, tube

and strip. The specialist range is developed

for the metal manufacturing processes

of copper, brass, phosphor bronze,

aluminium, aluminium alloy, plated metal,

precious metals and stainless steel.

Q8Oils is committed to the worldwide

wire and tube market with sales in over

85 countries worldwide from the Americas

to Asia.

Complementing the existing Priamus,

Wirol and Aludra ranges are four new

wire-drawing lubricants which utilise

the latest additive technology to provide

enhanced lubrication and meet the latest

worldwide environmental legislation.

Conductor Grease prevents corrosion

of overhead line conductors made

from aluminium, aluminium alloy,

steel or multi-metal wires, and is a

cold applied product meeting IEC

61394:2011, EN50326:2002 type 20 A

150 and type 40 A 125.

Increasing the Tantaroll range there are

new environmentally friendly products

for stainless steel ne wire drawing

applications, in the selected viscosities

of 6, 10, 15, 28 and 36 centistokes. These

new product lines complement the

existing and widely sold product range

for the drawing and rolling of copper and

aluminium alloys as well as the extensive

Q8Oils metal manufacturing product

range and services.
