RAWLING'S MIXED DRINKS

114

Brown Shake.

Put a few lumps of ice in the mixing

glass,and pour in

two-thirds pony curacoa

one-third pony French brandy

one toddyspoonful lime juice;

shake well, and serve in a French ver

mouth glass.

115

Burnt Cognac.

Nothing so improves the flavor of

after-dinner black coffee as cognac

brandy. Some people prefer to float

about a teaspoonful on top of the cof

fee; but the better way is to burn it

with the sugar. Rest a teaspoon con

taining one or two lumps of sugar on

the rim of the cup, and pour in enough

brandy to fill. Set fire to this and stir

into the coffee after the flames have

died out.
