Gas Regional Investment Plan of the South Region 2017
Given the EU’s highly developed regasification capacities of 213bcm/year, LNG is a
reliable way to increase diversification of sources and ensure security of supply. In
its communication from February 2016, on LNG and gas storage strategy, the EU
commission confirmed its aim to improve access of all Member States to LNG as an
alternative source of gas.
1)
This goal was confirmed by a Resolution
2)
from European
Parliament on 25 October 2016, who underlined that priority should be given to
market-based solutions.
