5.4.2 CAPACITY SUBSCRIPTION AT IPS BETWEEN
SPAIN AND FRANCE (VIP PIRINEOS)
After January 2017 60GWh/d of capacity is offered to the market in the France–Spain
direction, unbundled firm capacity in Spain, which can be matched with the already
existing interruptible short-term capacity in France. This additional capacity has
been booked, and used, in the first days of 2017 (from 08/01/2017 until 11/01/2017).
(See Figure 5.14).
Since December 2015, as a result of the Open Season held in July 2010, approxi-
mately the 90% of the common firm capacity from France to Spain is booked.
Since December 2015, regarding the Spain – France direction, the capacity
increased from 165GWh/d to 225GWh/d after the commissioning of the infrastruc-
tures of Open Season 2010.
According to the latest subscription information, approximately only half of the
capacity is already booked.
