Medical Groups in Systems
Medical Groups Not in Systems
Medical group practices with pharmacy services, by system affiliation, 2012
Key Takeaway
Pharmacy services are more commonly offered at large or multispecialty medical groups, and
the numbers of medical group practices falling into those categories increased in 2012 (see page
50). As medical groups increasingly participate in coordinated care programs, like accountable
care organizations and patient-centered medical homes, their offerings in the area of prescription
services may expand as their services become more and more centralized and the associated
operational costs remain manageable.
