PROCEEDINGS AGAINST

UNQUALIFIED PERSON

In the Dublin District Court on March izth on

proceedings brought by the Society Messrs. Bruton

Limited of 5 Henry Street, Dublin and Moira Healy

a servant of the defendant-company were convicted

on summonses brought under Section 64 of the

Solicitors Act 1954 in respect of a letter issued by

the defendant company and signed by the other

defendant which the Justice held was such as to imply

that the body corporate was qualified or recognised

by law as qualified to act as a solicitor. The Justice

imposed fines of £25 on the defendant company and

.£10 on the other defendant.

EXAMINATION RESULTS

At the Preliminary Examination for intending

apprentices to solicitors held on the yth and 8th days

of February 1961 the following candidate passed the

examination.
