IPA Can Do
This
for You Too
Earlier this year my wife, Pauline, and I were on
a cruise sailing to exotic locations including
Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand,
heading to Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Prior to our trip we had submitted travel requests
via BSAC to many of our ports of call. Section Sri
Lanka answered and arranged for us to be met
by local police officers at the dock.
We were escorted to the Senior Officers Club and
proudly shown the latest facilities available there.
After exchanging souvenirs we were then plied
with plenty of ‘tea and tab-nabs’. We also had the
pleasure of meeting with both Srijah
Senanayake, Section Sri Lanka Assistant Secretary
General, and Nuwan Vedasinghe. This was
followed by a whistle stop tour of the city sights
and places of Interest.
Having visited Sri Lanka on previous occasions
and during a Friendship Week it must be said
that the friendship offered to visiting members is
superb. Hema Diaz, Section Sri Lanka Secretary
General, said that he is only too pleased to offer
assistance. Both Pauline and I wish to thank
Hema and his team for putting on such a
wonderful day for us. It was truly humbling to
receive and in the best way reflects the IPA
motto ‘Servo per Amikeco’.

Travel Form Guidance:
Members should give as much notice as
possible before travel when visits to other
Sections are planned and contact with
overseas members is desired. It is
advised that an individual gives four
weeks’ notice and groups give twelve
weeks. This is to maximise the chances
of a Section making suitable
arrangements in time. You can download
a travel form at:
