A.

Purpose

The Town Center Residential District encourages a variety of compatible housing choices within proximity

of the Main Street District. The district encourages a mix of residential housing types, with densities varying

between parts of the district located west and east of Chapel Hill Road (NC 54) to reflect differences in

the established pattern of development. East of Chapel Hill Road, housing densities range from 8 to 12

dwelling units per acre. West of Chapel Hill Road and adjacent to the Main Street district, densities up

to 15 dwelling units/acre are encouraged.
