Safety Precautions

10

3M Petrifilm RYM Plates do not differentiate any one yeast or mold strain from another.

11

3M has not documented 3M Petrifilm RYM Plates for use in industries other than food and beverage.

12

For example, 3M has not documented 3M Petrifilm RYM Plates for testing water, pharmaceuticals or

13

cosmetics. 3M Petrifilm RYM Plates have not been tested with all possible food products, food

14

processes, testing protocols or with all possible strains of yeast and mold.

15

Do not use 3M Petrifilm RYM Plates in the diagnosis of conditions in humans or animals.

16

The user must train its personnel in proper testing techniques. For example, Good Laboratory

General Preparation

22

Use proper aseptic technique. Use proper precautions for biosafety level 2 microorganisms.

23

Store unopened packages at ≤8°C (≤46°F). Use before expiration date on package. In areas of high

24

humidity where condensate may be an issue, it is best to allow packages to reach room temperature

25

before opening.

26

27

Sample Preparation

28

When selecting a test method, it is important to recognize that external factors such as sampling

29

methods, testing protocols, sample preparation, handling, and laboratory technique may influence

30

results.

31

It is the user’s responsibility in selecting any test method or product to evaluate a sufficient number of

32

samples with the appropriate matrices and microbial challenges to satisfy the user that the chosen test

33

method meets the user’s criteria.
