1 Despite a 40% decrease in homicides, there was a 36% increase in violent crime overall in 2015. This increase was driven by increases in sexual assault, assault,
robbery and harassment offences. Similar trends were experienced across the Lower Mainland.
2 The continued operation of the Telephone Reporting Team relies on the use of members who are temporarily placed on restricted duties, such as officers who have
been injured and unable to perform their regular duties. During 2015, some officers who normally would have been placed into a TRT position were placed into the radio
room or other positions in support of front line policing.
