2016-2020 FINANCIAL PLAN



Increased, through appraisal review

and negotiation, the cash-in-lieu

contribution of park dedication

payments to the City by an additional

$555,000 over and above the original

amounts tended as part of

development applications,

representing a 20% increase;



Completed 325 appraisal requests,

representing a 9% increase over 2014.

The Appraisal Section also provided

land valuation estimates for

approximately 368 properties within

the proposed Light Rapid Transit

corridors, as well as property

valuation estimates for the DCC

budget analysis for both the Parks

Program and the City Centre Road

Grid;



The Conveyancing Section, in support

of the activities of Realty, Land

Development and the Tax Department,

processed and registered in excess of

1,750 documents at the Land Title

Office, representing a 35% increase

over 2014; and



Assisted the Transportation Division in

the completion of negotiations and

agreements for the transfer to the

Province of some 78 City-owned lands

with a value of over $22 million in

support of the South Fraser Perimeter

Road and Port Mann/Highway #1

projects.

ENVIRONMENTAL



Finalized the standards for new street

lights to be LED, including the initial

phasing in conversion of street lights

in the Newton Town Centre Area;



Construction of the Anderson Creek

Bridge across King George Boulevard

was completed by the end of 2015;



Sustained high organic waste

diversion from the projected tonnage

of 57,000 tonnes with actual of 61,000

tonnes;



Introduced the Surrey Apartment

Organics Collection Program. This

program provides for voluntary

participation in weekly organic waste

collection services at apartment

buildings across the City;



Finalized the supplementary

specifications for using recycled

asphalt pavement; and



Construction of the Newton Storm

Water Detention Pond completed in

November 2015.

SOCIO-CULTURAL



Completed construction of $3 Million

in mobility and safety improvements

around school zones, in advance of

September 2015, as part of Phase 2 of

the City’s Safe and Active Schools

Initiative;



Finalized the updated Design Criteria

and Standard Construction Documents

which were officially published

January 1, 2016;



Achieved 95% completion of the City-

wide road tenure research;
