Method Name/Manuscript Title
Simultaneous Determination of 13‐cis and all‐trans Vitamin A
Palmitate (Retinyl Palmitate), Vitamin A Acetate (Retinyl Acetate),
and Total Vitamin E (DL‐α‐Tocopherol and DL‐α‐Tocopherol Acetate)
in Infant Formula and Adult Nutritionals by liquid chromatography
Manuscript Reference
In your experience using the method, does the
method perform according to the method’s
applicability as written?
Extraction Method appears to be simple for the prescribed matrices
of Milk, Soyabased infant formula and the hydrolyzed protein adult
forumalas.
In your experience with the method, is there
any safety concerns identified while using or
regarding use of the method?
None
Do you have any information that supports
regarding the reproducibility of the method as
written:  If so, please specify and submit
information?
Though peaks are sharp,   Baseline drift is found to be more in
Vitamin E chromatograms.  Optimization is required for LC conditions
‐ could be change of column, mobile phases, pH, mobile phase
composition ‐  to avoid the quantification at low concentrations.
Also, the pH of the sample extract at the time of addition of acidified
methanol can be specified.
Please attach any documentation to support
your feedback, if available.
Based on your experience with the method,
are there any recommended changes to the
AOAC First Action Method as written?
Chromatographic conditions need improvement (as stated above).
