In your experience using the method, does the
method perform according to the method’s
applicability as written?
Sample preparation is found to be bit complicated with the use of
sodium ethoxide.
Chromatogram reveals a poor resolution of trans fatty acids.
Method recommends the cold fat extraction for product
supplemented with PUFA having fish oil. Profile may change due to
incomplete fat extraction.
Naturally occurring trans‐fatty acid‐ Vaccenic acid found in the fat of
ruminants and in dairy products such as milk, butter may interfere.
As DHA and EPA content is very low in health drinks the recovery may
affect.
