Manila Water switches
to PE pipe
Manila Water’s decision to switch from
PVCu to PE as its preferred pipe material
has brought about a change in the products
it sources from pipe joint and repair
specialist, Viking Johnson.
The Philippines water company’s latest
annual supply contract specifies AquaFast
couplings and flange adaptors in place of
the MaxiFit range it previously used.
AquaFast couplings and adaptors are
designed for both polyethylene and PVCu
pipe connections, including PE/PVC
transitions. The MaxiFit is a wide tolerance
range suitable for use with PVCu, steel,
ductile iron, cast iron and asbestos cement
pipe materials.
AquaFast flange adaptors feature
progressive gripping and sealing
technology, and are used for connections
to valves and other flanged fittings. No
specialist tooling is required and the fittings
can be installed in all weathers and site
conditions.
