Preparation of the 3M™ Molecular Detection Speed Loader Tray

3

1.

Wet a cloth or paper towel with a 1-5% (v:v in water) household bleach solution and

4

wipe the 3M™ Molecular Detection Speed Loader Tray.

5

2.

Rinse the 3M Molecular Detection Speed Loader Tray with water.

6

3.

Use a disposable towel to wipe the 3M Molecular Detection Speed Loader Tray dry.

7

4.

Ensure the 3M Molecular Detection Speed Loader Tray is dry before use.

8

9

Preparation of the 3M™ Molecular DetectionChill Block Insert

10

Before using the 3M™ Molecular Detection Chill Block Insert, ensure it has been

11

stored on the 3M™ Molecular Detection Chill Block Tray in the freezer (-10 to -20°C)

12

for a minimum of 2 hours before use. When removing the 3M Molecular Detection

13

Chill Block Insert from the freezer for use, remove it and the 3M Molecular Detection

14

Chill Block Tray together. Use the 3M Molecular Detection Chill Block Insert /3M

15

Molecular Detection Chill Block Tray within 20 minutes.

16

Preparation of the 3M™ Molecular Detection Heat Block Insert

17

Place the 3M™ Molecular Detection Heat Block Insert in a dry double block heater

18

unit. Turn on the dry block heater unit and set the temperature to allow the 3M

19

Molecular Detection Heat Block Insert to reach and maintain a temperature of 100

20

±1°C.

21

NOTE:

Depending on the heater unit, allow approximately 30-50 minutes for the 3M

22

Molecular Detection Heat Block Insert to reach temperature. Using a calibrated

23

thermometer, verify that the 3M Molecular Detection Heat Block Insert is at 100 ±1°C.

24

Preparation of the 3M Molecular Detection Instrument

25

1.

Launch the 3M™ Molecular Detection Software and log in.

26

2.

Turn on the 3M Molecular Detection Instrument.

27

3.

Create or edit a run with data for each sample. Refer to the 3M Molecular Detection

28

System User Manual for details.
