Chicken liver paté

2

For the chicken liver paté analysis there were 11 confirmed positives for the LPT method

3

and 8 confirmed positives for the USDA reference method. All uninoculated samples

4

were negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method

5

(dPOD = 0, CI: -0.28 to 0.28). There was no significant difference between the LPT

6

method and the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

2

= 0.88) or the POD

7

(dPOD = 0.15, CI: -0.15 to 0.41). See Tables 3, 8, 9 in the Appendix.

8

Deli ham – 25g

9

For the deli ham (25g) analysis there were 9 confirmed positives for the LPT method and

10

6 confirmed positives for the USDA reference method. All uninoculated samples were

11

negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method (dPOD

12

= 0, CI: -0.28 to 0.28). There was no significant difference between the LPT method and

13

the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

2

= 0.94) or the POD (dPOD =

14

0.15, CI: -0.14 to 0.41). See Tables 3, 8, 9 in the Appendix.

15

Deli ham – 125g

16

For the deli ham (125g) analysis there were 16 confirmed positives for the LPT method

17

and 15 confirmed positives for the USDA reference method. All uninoculated samples

18

were negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method

19

(dPOD = 0, CI: -0.25 to 0.25). There was no significant difference between the LPT

20

method and the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

2

= 0.14) or the POD

21

(dPOD = 0.05, CI: -0.20 to 0.30). See Tables 4, 8, 9 in the Appendix.

22

Ground beef – 125g

23

For the ground beef (125g) analysis there were 7 confirmed positives for the LPT method

24

and 7 confirmed positives for the USDA reference method. All uninoculated samples

25

were negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method

26

(dPOD = 0, CI: -0.27 to 0.27). There was no significant difference between the LPT

27

method and the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

2

= 0) or the POD

28

(dPOD = 0, CI: -0.27 to 0.27). See Tables 4, 8, 9 in the Appendix.

29

Deli turkey – 125g

30

For the deli turkey (125g) analysis there were 11 confirmed positives for the LPT method

31

and 12 confirmed positives for the USDA reference method. All uninoculated samples

32

were negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method

33

(dPOD = 0, CI: -0.28 to 0.28). There was no significant difference between the LPT

34

method and the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

2

= 0.10) or the POD

35

(dPOD = 0.05, CI: -0.32 to 0.23). See Tables 4, 8, 9 in the Appendix.
