Cooked Shrimp

2

For the cooked shrimp analysis there were 16 confirmed positives for the LPT method

3

and 13 confirmed positives for the BAM reference method. All uninoculated samples

4

were negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method

5

(dPOD = 0, CI: -0.25 to 0.25). There was no significant difference between the LPT

6

method and the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

2

= 1.10) or the POD

7

(dPOD = 0.15, CI: -0.12 to 0.40). See Tables 5, 8, 9 in the Appendix.

8

Smoked Salmon

9

For the smoked salmon analysis there were 14 confirmed positives for the LPT method

10

and 15 confirmed positives for the BAM reference method. All uninoculated samples

11

were negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method

12

(dPOD = 0, CI: -0.27 to 0.27). There was no significant difference between the LPT

13

method and the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

2

= 0.12) or the POD

14

(dPOD = 0.05, CI: -0.30 to 0.21). See Tables 5, 8, 9 in the Appendix.

15

Cantaloupe

16

For the cantaloupe analysis there were 12 confirmed positives for the LPT method and 10

17

confirmed positives for the BAM reference method. All uninoculated samples were

18

negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method (dPOD

19

= 0, CI: -0.28 to 0.28). There was no significant difference between the LPT method and

20

the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

2

= 0.40) or the POD (dPOD =

21

0.10, CI: -0.19 to 0.37). See Tables 5, 8, 9 in the Appendix.

22

Mixed Salad

23

For the mixed salad analysis there were 20 confirmed positives for the LPT method and

24

15 confirmed positives for the BAM reference method. All uninoculated samples were

25

negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method (dPOD

26

= 0, CI: -0.16 to 0.16). There was a significant difference between the LPT method and

27

the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

= 5.57) and the POD (dPOD =

28

0.25, CI: 0.038 to 0.47). See Tables 5, 8, 9 in the Appendix

29

Peanut butter

30

For the peanut butter analysis there were 15 confirmed positives for the LPT method and

31

16 confirmed positives for the BAM reference method. All uninoculated samples were

32

negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method (dPOD

33

= 0, CI: -0.26 to 0.26). There was no significant difference between the LPT method and

34

the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test (

X

2

= 0.14) or the POD (dPOD =

35

0.05, CI: -0.29 to 0.20). See Tables 5, 8, 9 in the Appendix.

36

Black pepper

37

For the black pepper analysis there were 8 confirmed positives for the LPT method and

38

10 confirmed positives for the BAM reference method. All uninoculated samples were

39

negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method (dPOD
