Hakan Plastic targets countries that sector
has not met
Zafer Karadeniz, chairman of the
board of Hakan Plastic, has stated that
reaching countries that have not yet
met with the Turkish plastic sector is the
company’s aim this year.
The company’s works that were
started last year have been completed,
and Hakan Plastic Mexico has
been established. The company
accomplished its first export to this
country in February. Mr Karadeniz said
that Hakan Plastic continues to be the
first choice of the most prestigious
construction firms in both Turkey and
the world, and that it was the only
Turkish brand of which products were
used in the tallest building in the world,
the Burj Khalifa Dubai Mall Project.
Hakan Plastic produces for construction
projects such as Istanbul Trump Tower,
Dubai Rolex Tower and Latifa Tower,
operating at modern premises in the
Çerkezköy Organizad Industrial Zone
(COSB). As a plastic pipe systems
producer, Hakan Plastic began indoor
pipe systems production with extrusion
and injection machines imported from
Germany in 1965.
The company operates in three main
business areas: superstructure (eg
Silenta silent wastewater pipe systems),
infrastructure (Duramax PP corrugated),
and agriculture (Hakan Damla and
sprinkling irrigation systems).
Hakan Duramax corrugated pipes,
which are produced from polypropylene
and high density polyethylene, conform
to the TSE EN 13476-3 standards. They
feature high flexibility; without being
affected by underground movement,
they can be used for at least 50 years
without maintenance.
Silenta soundproof wastewater pipes
and fittings are produced in two
different series: Silenta 3a and Silenta
Premium.
Their three-layer structure provides
flowing performance and durability.
Hakan Damla Sulama pipes are
produced conforming to the TSE
EN 9261 standards. They feature
durable structure against sunlight and
chemicals.

JM Eagle expands HDPE production
Plastic pipe manufacturer JM Eagle
is expanding production of solid-wall
high-density polyethylene at two of its
plants to meet demand in northern US
and Canadian markets.
Converting its Sunnyside, Washington
plant from PVC to PE production and
boosting the number of PE lines at
its Meadville, Pennsylvania plant,
the company aims to better serve
customers seeking products for water
and sewer, as well as oil and gas
gathering. The Sunnyside plant will
also produce PE pipe for irrigation, and
both plants will produce products for
power and communication application.
“JM Eagle looks forward to better
serving customers in the water and
gas markets in the northern part of
the country, as well as in Canada,”
said Dan O’Connor, JM Eagle vice
president of PE sales. “This expansion
gives JM Eagle a stronger footprint
in PE production and distribution
nationwide.”
Production of PE water pipe up to 36" in
diameter and gas pipe was scheduled
to begin in mid-July at both plants, with
all lines complete by September.
The company also plans to manufacture
up to 63" diameter water pipe in the
future, and is developing PE water pipe
in even larger diameters.
The Sunnyside plant previously
manufactured only PVC products. The
Meadville plant has been producing
the corrugated PE product Eagle Corr
PE since 2009. JM Eagle had primarily
focused its PE manufacturing at its
plants in the southern United States.
JM Eagle PE pipe for water and sewer
is suitable for municipal and industrial
transmission systems for potable water,
sewer, drain, mining, irrigation and
reclaimed water. It is covered under the
company’s exclusive 50-year warranty.
JM Eagle pipe for gas is suitable for use
in multiple applications for distribution,
and oil and gas gathering.
“Now JM Eagle customers in all parts
of the United States and into Canada
can enjoy the benefits of high-quality,
high-performance JM Eagle solid-
wall PE pipe,” said Mr O’Connor.
“Municipalities and utilities will have
better choices in building long-lasting
water and gas infrastructures.”
With 22 manufacturing plants
throughout North America, JM Eagle
manufactures a wide array of high-
grade, high-performance polyvinyl
chloride and high-density polyethylene
pipe across a variety of industries and
applications.
