6.0 PROCEDURES
6.1 Leave taken for parental involvement will be considered leave with pay and will not be
charged to any of the employee’s leave balances;
6.2 The employee’s supervisor may require the employee to make a written request for the
leave at least 48 hours before the time requested;
6.3 The employee’s supervisor may require the employee to furnish written verification from
the child’s school confirming the employee’s attendance or participation at the school during
the time of the leave;
6.4 The parental leave used should be entered in the City’s time-keeping system according to
departmental policy.
