a. The City prohibits treating individuals less favorably because of the way they express
their gender identity. Gender is expressed through one’s clothing, hair style, voice or body
characteristics. An individual’s gender expression may or may not conform to their birth-
assigned gender or sex.
7. Gender Identity
a. The City prohibits treating individuals less favorably because of their personal sense of their
gender or sex.
8. Genetic Information
a. The City prohibits treating individuals less favorably because of their genetic information
or family medical history.
9. Marital Status
a. The City prohibits treating individuals less favorably because of their status as married or
unmarried.
10. Mental or Physical Disability
a. The City prohibits treating individuals less favorably because they have a mental or physical
impairment that substantially limits one or major life activities. This protection extends to
individuals who have a record of being disabled or who are regarded as being disabled.
11. Military Status
a. The City prohibits treating individuals less favorably because of their past, current or future
participation in the armed services.
12. National Origin
a. The City prohibits treating individuals less favorably because of they or their ancestors are
from a particular part of the world.
