Ardhasuchi

The left leg is raised and lifted to

the head and the right leg is bent and made

to stand in

Suchipada.

Hands are in

ala-

padma hastha

placed over the head.

78.

Suchividdha

One foot is placed on the heel of

the other. One hand is placed on the chest

holding

katakamukha

and the other on the

hip in

Ardhachandra hasta.

79.

Apakrantha

One foot is bent at thigh level and

curved to the other side and stamps the

floor. Hands are moved in accordance with

feet movements.

80.

Mayuralalitha

One foot is bent backwards like

the scorpion's tail and raised a little. Hands

are spread like

Lata patra.

The hip is

turned round. Moving the hips round the

dancer performs

bhramarachari,

the whirl-

ing movement of the bee.

82.

Prenkholita

Feet is folded and moved like a

swing followed by a jump. Hip is turned

back and this results in

Prenkhoiite.

83.

Harinaplutha

The foot is bent and raised. Then

the dancer jumps and stamps the floor. The

shanks are stamped on both sides, one after

the other. Hands hold Dola and

kataka

hastha.

84.

Dandapada

After performing

nupurapada

one

foot is bent and the other is extended. Hands

are stretched likewise. Tue feet should be

bent forward. The hands must be placed like

a staff.

81. Sarpitha

The dancer stands on one foot

with the heel raised. Head is bent to that

side, palms are turned downward. The

same action is repeated on both sides. The

movement and karana resembles the

movement of the snake.

85.

Nithambam

Both arms are raised upward with

fingers facing each other. The dancer

performs

Baddha chari.

The feet cross

each other as in

swastika.

Hands held

in

Pataka hasta.

86.

Skhalitha

Both the feet are bent, raised and

then moved. The dancer performs

dolapada.

She moves her hands in harmony with foot

movements. Her hands are rotated by spread-

ing the palms.

(Hamsapaksha hastha).

87.

Karihastha

One hand is placed in front of the

chest holding

katakamukha

hastha.

The

other hand is rotated and placed near the

ears holding

Tripataka hastha.

One foot is

in

Anchitapada

with the heel touching the

floor. The left foot moves back while the

right foot moves forward.

88.

Prasarpithaka

One hand is spread and held

upward with

Sukathunda hastha

and the

other hand holding

lata hasta

is stretched

forward. The feet is dragged while rub-

bing the floor and moves forward.

90.

Upasruthaka

One foot and one hand is

stretched backward and hands are also

moved. Body is stretched and bent for-

ward. Hands are held

Arala hasta.

After

the movement it is pi aced on the right side

of the body.

91.

Udvritta

The dancer stretches her body

including the hands and feet. The body is

also bent.

92.

Simhakarshitha

One foot is stretched to the back

while the hands holding

Nikunchitha hasta

is raised up and held down. Both the hands

are interlocked and the movement is re-

peated two or three times.

89. Simhavikridatha

The dancer moves the feet one by

one in a whirling manner. The hands are

also moved in same way in unison with

the feet movement. The left foot is placed

on the right foot quickly and the dancer

looks back. In between hands are also

clapped quite often. The movement should

be repeated on both sides.
