Accuracy

There is no certified reference material for carotenoids in infant formula and adult nutritionals.

Accuracy was assessed by spike and recovery of all-

trans

lutein and β-carotene is various

matrices. Spiked and unspiked samples were measured in triplicate. The SMPR calls for 90-

110% recovery from spiked samples, and all data meets this requirement.
