We note that one of the areas for participatory governance (number 7) is “faculty roles in accreditation
standards.” [53200, subdivision (c) 7.] Because “accreditation standards” include hiring procedures, such
procedures arguably fall within the purview of participatory governance. However, there is no authority to
support this analysis. Because we advise balancing inclusion with flexibility, we suggest either treating EEO
Plan/Advisory Committee Formation as falling under the catch-all category number 11, or outside formal
participatory governance processes.
