genetic information, matriculation, political affiliation, physical or mental disabilities, or veteran status or any

other category protected by applicable law.

Associates may not use ICMA‑RC’s electronic platform to solicit outside business ventures, advertise for

personal gain, or distribute copyrighted materials. Solicitations for any type of non-corporate purpose are not

permitted without prior approval from Human Resources.

ICMA‑RC associates may not share or use each other’s passwords or otherwise access a file or message without

express permission either from the associate to whom the communication was addressed, Human Resources,

or an authorized representative of the corporation. Associates may not send email messages using any identity

but their own.

Misuse of communications tools may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Telephones

Local and long-distance lines are provided to carry out the daily responsibilities of the corporation.

ICMA‑RC’s phone system records the number dialed and the duration of all outgoing and incoming calls.

Supervisors may limit, as necessary and appropriate, the number and duration of both incoming and outgoing

personal calls. Personal long-distance telephone calls should be charged to a personal calling card or made

from a personal cell phone.

ICMA‑RC reserves the right to monitor any call to or from a corporate-provided telephone or systems.

Additionally, for training purposes and to ensure satisfactory job performance, ICMA‑RC may monitor

incoming calls received within the Contact Center and Operations Workgroups in the Client Services

Division and the Direct Marketing Unit. Associates will be advised when phones in their area will be

monitored to ensure quality of service and satisfactory job performance.

CORPORATE WIRELESS DEVICES

Some associates who travel frequently or have special business continuity responsibilities may be issued

a corporate mobile phone, wireless broadband card, or hotspot as a Corporate Liable Device. Guidelines

provided by Telephony Administration regarding corporate cell phone usage apply.

Wireless Corporate Liable Devices issued to associates are to be used for conducting ICMA‑RC business.

However, while the use of these devices for personal reasons is discouraged, it is understood that reasonable

usage for personal reasons is permissible. If the monthly charges exceed the pre-assigned amount, then the

associate will be responsible for reimbursing ICMA‑RC for the difference if this personal usage is the cause

of the overage. It is also important to note that Internet usage from a Corporate Liable Wireless Device is

subject to ICMA‑RC’s Information Security Policy and the Code of Ethics. Use of wireless broadband cards

or tethered telephone devices and mobile hotspots falls under the Corporation’s Information Security Policy

covering the viewing, downloading, or sharing of offensive or inappropriate material.

Corporate Liable Wireless Devices are to be used for business-related purposes. Non-business-related

messages may not be broadcast corporate-wide without prior approval from Human Resources or Telephony

Administration. In addition, wireless devices cannot be used for inappropriate communications, including

personal correspondence, chain letters, racial or sexual jokes, or other offensive material that would

violate ICMA‑RC’s Harassment-Free Work Environment as discussed on
