business. Coursework for the TRP is voluntary and completed outside of your normal work schedule.

You must submit a separate application form prior to beginning your coursework for each course for which

upon documentation of a grade of C or above or “pass” marks in the course.

If you voluntarily leave ICMA‑RC’s employment within six months of receiving money under the Tuition

Reimbursement Program, you will be required to reimburse ICMA‑RC in full. If you leave ICMA‑RC

between the 7th and 12th month after receiving money under the Tuition Reimbursement Program, you will

be required to reimburse ICMA‑RC for 50 percent of the tuition paid by ICMA‑RC.

The current policy and application forms for the Tuition Reimbursement Program are available at

Professional Development Program (PDP) Overview

ICMA‑RC’s Professional Development Program covers external workshops, seminars, training classes,

conferences and certain licensing review courses that may be required or relevant to your current job.

Professional Development Program learning opportunities are generally shorter in duration than Tuition

Reimbursement Program courses and may not be graded. Associates usually participate in these programs

during normal working hours. Participation must be approved by your supervisor and is based on the

operational needs of the department.

Examples of programs covered under the Professional Development Program include training classes and

workshops on computer software and hardware, supervisory skills, customer service and sales, taxation and

compliance, product updates, payroll, investments and mutual funds, and business writing. Review classes

for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) exam and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

designation, for example, are also covered when licensing is required for your current job.

Professional Development Program learning opportunities are paid in advance upon submission of the

required documentation. The current policy and application form for the Professional Development Program

are available at

my.icmarc.org

or through Corporate Learning.
