Scapa UK
Stand: 10D75
After 102 years of supplying protection
solutions to the cable manufacturing
industry, Scapa UK Ltd is investing for the
next 100 years! It was 1912 when Lyndsay
and Williams rst supplied insulating tapes
to power cable makers in the UK, and since
their acquisition by Scapa, change and
expansion has been a constant.
With this pedigree as a backdrop, Scapa
now has one of the widest ranges of cable
protection solutions in the industry. It is
now a key supplier and reference partner
to the world’s top manufacturers of power,
subsea, control, instrumentation and bre
optic cables.
With two plants, Renfrew in Canada,
and Ashton, near Manchester, UK,
focusing production on cable wrapping
tapes, the full range includes dielectric,
semi-conducting,
bituminised,
re
retardant and water blocking tapes and
yarns.
Scapa is positioning itself to take
advantage of the expansion in the wire
and cable industry. Each plant has its
own research and development facilities,
backed by a central research operation
in France and the company is currently
working on the next generation of water
blocking tapes. As well as this intensive
product development, investment in plant
and process is rising.
Scapa agship products (ranges) include:
SC24/200 – a high tensile semi-conducting
tape for power applications; CT50/113 –
an insulating binding and bedding tape
with high abrasion resistance; SC36/65
– used in many global subsea projects
this is an easy process semi-conducting
tape; BT1 – a subsea project staple, this
bitumen tape is excellent for bedding
and anti-corrosion; WS(C)M range – a
choice of semi-conductive and insulating
seawater blocking tapes for power
cables; WSD range – an extensive series
of waterblocking tapes for bre optic and
general data cables; CFY range – a wide
assortment of waterblocking yarns for
power and data applications; FR range –
halogen free re retardant tapes for a wide
variety of applications; and solutions for

Rolf Schlicht
Stand: 12A45
Rolf Schlicht will exhibit di erent versions
of its electrostatic powder coating
machines. The machine model RSC was
designed to powder cables, wires, hoses
and pro les, evenly nely dosed and
absolutely dust-free, with powders like
talc, stearate, varnish powder, swellable
powder, graphite, etc.
In the machine there is a fully automatic
and
maintenance-free
lter
system
which is not cleaned o by blowing
in compressed air. Thanks to this lter
system a strong and constant vacuum
is generated in the machine, so that no
powder will escape.
The machine will be manufactured to the
desired extrusion speed and diameter.
Also on display will be:
Samp SpA. Rolf Schlicht o ers the
complete range of products and systems,
including rod breakdown lines, single-wire
and
multi-wire
drawing
machines,
bunching
and
laying-up
machines,
winding and unwinding solutions as well
as LV, MHV and CV extrusion lines and
spare parts for Samp machines and plants
already installed.
Huestis air misers have been used for
many years in the cable, wire and pro le
industry. The air wipes are of low noise,
dry highly e ciently and the compressed
air consumption is very low because of a
special construction. Schlicht supplies the
air wipes in sizes from 1.6mm to 178mm
diameter.
Special sizes in rectangular shape are
available upon request. They open
automatically to allow knots, splices and
other oversizes to pass without stopping
production or creation of damages. Due
to their small size they can be mounted in
any cooling line without problems.
