After 45 years in Vancouver,

Patricia (Pat) Wilson

Scarlett

has moved to Kelowna. In her spare time,

she plays bridge, attends exercise class, walks with

a group, belongs to a book club, attends church and

works on genealogy. Last year, she travelled to Spain

and Portugal. These activities and travel are typical of

those in our class who are blessed with reasonably good

health and mobility. Among them are

Frances (Fran)

Smith Stronach, Paige Wadsworth McDermott, Ann

Hutchison Carley, Jennifer (Jeff) Weatherstone Neal,

Cynthia (Cyndy) Thomas Smith

and

Mary Risley

, who

is now in transition from teaching cooking to running a

food rescue organization in San Francisco.

Finally,

Joan (Joanie) Kingsmill Roper

discovered a

newspaper article dating back to the late 1950s when

she was a Simpson’s Club representative for Havergal. It

was about Joan and a fellow representative from another

school. In an effort to reconnect, Joan sent it to the

school, resulting in a catch-up call between Joan and her

long-ago friend, as well as a press clipping for inclusion

in the archives…Havergal connects!

a wonderful 55th Reunion luncheon at Rosedale Golf

Club last October. A terrific turnout! We certainly

missed

Mary (Sassy) Waddell

, who hosted so many

of our reunions in her home and sadly passed away last

summer. Nevertheless, nearly 40 classmates gathered to

celebrate our long-lasting friendships and to toast those

no longer with us.

It was obvious with many of us celebrating our 75th

birthdays this year that
