The notice convening the meeting was taken as
read.
The minutes o f the Ordinary General Meeting
of the Society held on 13th May, 1954, and the Special
General Meeting held on 24th May, 1954, were read,
confirmed and signed.
Mr. William J. Norman moved and Mr. John J.
Sheil seconded the adoption o f the audited accounts
and balance sheet. The motion was adopted and the
President signed the balance sheet.
Messrs. Kevans & Sons were unanimously re
appointed as the Society’s auditors.
The Secretary read the report o f the Scrutineers
of the ballot for the election o f the Council and
Provincial Delegates for the year 1954-55. The
report stated that for the office o f Provincial
Delegate the following had been returned
unopposed :—Ulster, Derrick M. Martin Munster,
John J. Dundon; Leinster, Reginald J. Nolan;
Connaught, Christopher E . Callan.
The foregoing were declared duly elected.

The President moving the adoption o f the report
o f the Council said :—
Ladies and Gentlemen : Since I last had the
honour to address you at the 336th General Meeting
in May o f this year, it is inevitable that some o f our
members and friends should have died. Amongst
them a special mention must be made o f one o f my
distinguished predecessors in the office which I now
hold as your President—Mr. Roger Greene. In
all his activities both inside and without the pro
fession, Mr. Greene proved himself to be a man of
rare distinction. His demise while still in his early
forties is a matter o f very great regret to the many
who knew him. Others who no longer are with us
