On Thursday, 23rd November the Annual Prize Distribution took place with a first-
class Concert Party. Also it was decided to hold a Dance in the Grand Hotel on
Wednesday, 27
th
December from 7 to 11 p.m. A light Supper was provided, the
attendance was 180. It is recorded that it was a very pleasant evening and there
was a unanimous demand for a repeat.
Although it had been decided to not proceed with the proposed alterations and
extensions, new chairs and tables and a new maplewood floor in the Lounge were
purchased and completed.
the A.G.M. for 1939 reported that the membership was 421, a decrease of 23 and
the Profit for the Year was £69.17.0d.
NEW MEMBERS:- 28 Elected including D.Williams & R.W.Godson, together with 9
Associates.
