Continued to improve E-Finance

services such as e-billing, invoice

submission, electronic fund transfers;



Continued to promote electronic T4

distribution;

Continued to promote e-invoice

Implemented CaseWare Working

Papers for producing electronic year-

end financial working papers,

resulting in a significant reduction in

paper usage;



Implemented a solution enabling

digital paystub delivery to all outside

City employees, resulting in a

significant reduction in paper usage;



Through the City’s energy efficient

printer fleet, along with sustainable

practices like duplex printing and

scanning, annual print volume

decreased by 27%, energy use and

GHG emissions reduced by 47%

(84,000 kWh and 0.76t CO2e

respectively), paper use reduced by

10.2 tonnes (duplexing saved 1.12M

sheets of 20lb paper), and toner waste

reduced by 7.2 tonnes through the use

of environmentally friendly resin-

based ink; and



Launched JoinMe collaboration to

promote webinar meetings.



Commenced a review of the Contract

Module in our Financial System to

facilitate improved efficiencies and

reporting;



Continued to develop our new

Financial System, upgrading the

processes, adding Accounts

Receivable functionality and

continuing with overall process

efficiencies;



Successfully transitioned to a new

insurer for the City’s property risks

achieving better rates for the City’s

growing building inventory;



Managed business risk through an

Enterprise Risk Management Program

within Surrey; and



Along with Legal and Engineering

through three Canadian

Transportation Agency (CTA)

decisions , successfully challenged the

rail crossing indemnity and insuring

agreements that had been in place for

decades and changed the law on this

issue across the country.

the world by the New York based think

tank ICF;

Surrey associations and non-profit
