• Individuals should be requested to fast
overnight or to have only a light breakfast

• Ensure safety if the person is light-headed.
Patient teaching
• Encourage person to void after the pro­
cedure and regularly thereafter.
• Advise person to drink fluids regularly.
• Advise person to report any adverse
effects.
• Advise person to take care when standing
up or getting out of bed due to potential
dizziness.
• Instruct women who are breastfeeding
to discontinue breastfeeding for at least
24 hours and substitute with formula or
expressedbreastmilkpriortotheprocedure.

Adults:
0.9 mg IM followed by second
0.9 mg IM 24 hours later.
IV ADMINISTRATION:
Reconstitute 1 vial with 1.2 mL of Sterile
Water for Injection. After reconstitution,
the thyrotrophin alfa concentration is
0.9 mg/mL.
