Patient teaching
• Advise person to report any adverse
effects.
• Advise person to take care when standing
up or getting out of bed due to potential
dizziness.

Interactions
Drug-drug.
Metformin/biguanides:
Potential
transient impairment of renal function
with possible lactic acidosis. Should be
discontinued 48 hours prior to procedure.
Interleukin-2:
Increased risk of delayed
reactions. Monitor closely.
Beta blockers:
Atypical anaphylaxis. Monitor
closely.
Neuroleptics and phenothiazine derivative
antidepressants:
Reduce seizure threshold.
Should be discontinued 48 hours prior to
and not resumed for 24 hours following
procedure.
Nephrotoxicdrugs:
Administration shouldbe
delayed until media has cleared the body.
Drug-lifestyle.
Alcohol:
Possibility of
development of CNS disorders. Exercise
caution.
Drugs of addiction:
Possible reduced seizure
threshold. Exercise caution.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in individuals with known
hypersensitivity to the preparation or
a history of serious hypersensitivity to
iomeprol, in those with acute inflammation
