Test portions will be held over the

C and processing and analysis will begin on Monday.

The second set of sample test portions, hot dogs, will be shipped to arrive on a

Tuesday and analyzed the day of arrival.

During the week of sample analysis, all final VITEK/API confirmations may be held until

the following Monday if necessary for the final confirmation step by refrigerating TSI/LIA

slants on Friday, streaking to TSA on Monday and then continuing with VITEK/API on

Tuesday. If labs have analysts in on the weekends, confirmations can continue on

Saturday and Sunday if desired. Otherwise, confirmations can be completed as usual

without the additional hold time.

Shipment of Test portions

Test portions will be shipped in leak-proof containers with cold packs to maintain the

appropriate temperature range.

Packages will be sent as Infectious goods via Federal Express Overnight Priority. If the

test portions do not arrive by the normal delivery time one day prior to analysis, please

contact Patrick Bird at 513-471-1300.

Test Portion Receipt

1. Note condition of package on the Sample Receipt Confirmation Form and notify

Pat Bird if any packages appear to have been compromised or if the test products do not arrive

in the appropriate condition – all products should arrive cold to the touch. All product test

portions should be stored at 2-8

°

C (refrigerated) until the day of analysis.
