lemon,

tablespoonful

fine

sugar

in

a

mixing-glass

half-full

fine

ice,

add

three

dashes

Angostura

bitters,

fill

up

with

water

shake

well,

put

in

long

thin

glass,

trim

with

fruits

.

season.

Serve

on

ice

with

straws

or

strain,

as

desired.

Lemon

Squash.

Cut

a

whole

lemon

into

halves,

place

them

in

a

mixing-glass,

add

one

tablespoonful

of

powdered

sugar,

crush

the

lemon

with

muddler

to

extract

the

juice,

fill

the

glass

half

-full

fine

ice,

add

a

cold

bottle

of

plain

soda,

mix

with

spoon

;

put

all

into

a

long

thin

punch-glass,

ornament

with

fruits

in

season,

and

serve

with

straws.

Syrup.

Take

gallon

gum-syrup,

it

pints

pure

lemon

juice,

put

on

fire

and

briug

to

the

boiling-point;

cold

bottle,

keep

cool

place.
