Pipe Coil Technology Limited has
launched ‘System Solutions’ that use
robotics to fully automate the whole
coiling and packaging process.
Operating at speeds of up to 200m/
min, the system requires no manpower
resources to operate any part of the
system between the extrusion line and
coil dispatch point. Robotics perform all
tasks including coil handling, labelling
and sampling, significantly cutting costs
and increasing efficiency.
Designed initially for tube and pipe
sizes up to 32mm diameter, this fully
integrated system can be built around
any automatic coiler. Packagingmethods
are tailored to the customer’s individual
requirements and options include strap,
film or tape as well as the choice of
secondary packaging methods, such as
spiral wrapping or box insertion.
To maximise output, the company
recommends installing the system
alongside its high speed off-line coiling
system, which separates coiling from
the restrictions of the extrusion line,
making it possible to coil at 200m/
minute and produce finished pallets
every 35 seconds. The systems are
specifically designed around the needs
of utility and plumbing pipe producers,
currently operating with HDPE, PEX, PB
and composites, although they can be
tailored towards other materials.

to suit customer requirements; extensive

Indian market
M/s Akash Steel Crafts Pvt Ltd is a
manufacturer of stainless steel tubes
and pipes, based near Mumbai,
India. The company has recently
introduced automatic tube mills for the
manufacturing of tubes from ½" to 4"
NB, with thickness up to 6mm. It also
has fabrication facilities for pipes of any
length, from 5" to 20" OD, and up to
10mm thickness.
The company is fully equipped with
facilities such as annealing in LPG
furnace, pickling and hydro testing,
and also has a well-equipped chemical
testing laboratory for in-house testing of
raw materials and finished goods.
Products are currently supplied to the
Indian market, though the company is
considering entering into the export of
tubes and pipes in the near future.

Bauernfeind, Austria, was founded
1990 and manufactures PP-Mega-
Pipe and PP-Mega-Drain
products.
PP-Mega-Pipe is available with
internal diameter 100 to 1,200mm
SN8, and PP-Mega-Drain with
internal diameter 100 to 400mm
SN8 or SN4. The products are
suitable for applications such as
road and motorway construction,
sewage and rainwater, industrial
construction, and house and stable
construction.
The company produces composite corrugated pipes according to EN 13476
with ring stiffness SN8. PP-Mega-Pipe SN4 and SN8 can be rinsed with 120 bar
high pressure, and the company test products for ring stiffness, ring flexibility
and impact resistance. The pipes are produced using high quality BOR™ PP.
PP-Mega-Pipe is easier and cheaper to install, because the pipes have a fixed
socket, included in the price of the pipe. All sockets are double layer and have
a long form, ensuring secure connection.
