The concept for the creation of gas hub on the territory of Bulgaria is based on the idea significant quantities of natural gas from different

sources to enter into a given real physical point in the region of Varna for their further transport and a venue for gas trade is organized at the

same time at this point ² a hub where every market participant could trade in gas. The idea of building the gas hub is supported by the

strategic geographic location of Bulgaria, the well-developed existing gas infrastructure for transmission and storage and the projects for the

construction of interconnections with Romania, Turkey, Greece and Serbia.
