CHAPTER 4

EMPLOYMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Job descriptions document the duties, responsibilities, and competency requirements associated with

ICMA‑RC positions. A good job description:

P

P

helps associates understand their duties and responsibilities and the essential functions of the job;

P

P

identifies the difficulties and complexities of a position and helps identify the knowledge, skills, abilities

and experience needed to successfully perform the job;

P

P

provides necessary documentation for determining career progression ladders;

P

P

provides specific duties and competency requirements for measurement in performance evaluation; and

P

P

provides information needed to determine eligibility for overtime (that is, exempt or nonexempt status).

Job descriptions are reviewed and updated periodically for accuracy and completeness. You may obtain your

job description from Human Resources.

Note:

Job descriptions summarize intended job responsibilities and essential functions. However, the incumbent is expected to perform

other duties or tasks as assigned. ICMA‑RC reserves the right to review and revise a job description at any time.
