Interview Selection

ICMA‑RC makes an effort to conduct personal interviews with all qualified internal candidates. Internal

applicants who are notified that they do not meet the minimum qualifications for the position may request

an informational meeting with the recruiter or hiring manager, if desired. Be sure to review the brochure

“Information for Internal Applicants” on the ICMA‑RC intranet for details and interviewing tips.

Testing

ICMA‑RC may administer relevant testing to both internal and external applicants. Applicants will be

notified at the time of application if testing will be required for the posted position.

Confidentiality

It is important to maintain the confidentiality of the interview process at all times. Potential candidates and all

information regarding filling an open position will be held in strict confidence consistent with all applicable

law. Associates who conduct interviews must refrain from discussing any applicant with any person who is

not directly involved in the interview or selection process and who has not agreed to maintain confidentiality

regarding the candidates.

Talent Scout — Our Associate Referral Program

The Talent Scout Program provides a monetary award to eligible associates for referring individuals who are

eventually hired into regular full-time and part-time positions.

ASSOCIATE ELIGIBILITY

All of the following personnel are eligible to participate in the Talent Scout Program:

Full-time or part-time associates

P

P

Associates on a leave of absence

P

P

Associates hired by ICMA‑RC but who have not yet started employment with the corporation

ASSOCIATE INELIGIBILITY

The following associates are ineligible to participate in the Talent Scout Program:

Members of the Human Resources staffing group involved with recruitment and selection

P

P

Supervisors and managers if the referred candidate would be reporting to them

P

P

Associates who are part of the interview team for the referred candidate

P

P

Vice Presidents and above

CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY

Talent Scout awards are paid for referrals that meet the following qualifications:

ICMA‑RC hires the referred candidate on a full-time or part-time basis

P

P

ICMA‑RC hires the referred candidate on an other than full-time or part-time basis (i.e., as a contractor or

intern), but the candidate becomes a regular full-time or part-time associate at a later date
