Peel

shred

the

pineapple,

saving

all

the

juice;

extract

the

juice

from

the

oranges

and

the

lemon.

Boil

one

cupful

of

water

and

the

sugar

for

six

minutes

and

allow

to

cool.

Mix

the

syrup

thus

made

with

the

juices

of

the

fruits,

and

pour

into

a

tall

slim

glass

pitcher

;

add

the

kumquats

thinly

sliced

and

the

remaining

pint

and

a

half

of

water.

Add

a

pint

of

cracked

ice

and

the

carbonated

water.

Stir

well

and

serve

at

once.

pineapple

block

stand

on

ice.

Just

before

serving

add

the

sparkling

cider.
