Single and double twist

machines for automotive cables

Lesmo’s single twist machine (MTO) from 400mm up to 2,000mm is a flexible machine

that can work as a payoff or take-up. Its smooth deviation makes it an ideal machine for

the production of cables for the automotive sector.

The most common uses for the single twist machine include:

Smooth bunching of flexible copper and aluminium conductors, usually of 400mm

to 630mm take-up size

Laying-up of fine insulated conductors and LAN cables (with or without in-line

taping and binding head for applying screening, taping and binding) usually of

800mm to 1,000mm take-up

Roping of flexible conductors, multi-wires or pre-bunched, usually of 1,250mm to

1,600mm take-up

Laying-up of control and instrumentation cables (pairs, triples and quad) usually of

1,250mm to 1,600mm take-up

Screening with copper or aluminium wires and armouring with steel wires, usually

1,250mm to 1,600mm take-up

Lesmo can supply single twist take-up with back twist payoffs for unwinding the central

core or a number of insulated cables, either a drum twister (close cradle and fork type),

or a single and double twist back twist.

The double twist back twist payoff offers a solution for the production of automotive

cables, instrumentation, control cables and LAN, allowing the unwinding varying

numbers of cables without the limitation on speed of the single twist take-up. Officine

Meccaniche di Lesmo has been a well-known brand in the wire and cable field since

1962.
