Kids Gallery: Food Surrey Museum

On display

September 27 to December 23

Pint-sized foodies and little locavores

find out where their food comes

from (hint – it’s not the supermarket).

Fresh hands-on activities explore

farming past and present from a kid’s

perspective. Check out modern farming

in the greenhouse, plant a window box,

puzzle over land use while building

a mini-community, and climb the

treehouse!

Eating in Elegance

Surrey Museum

On display

July 12-December 23

Early settlers brought very little from

their homelands, but precious table

settings were often carefully carried to

the new country. This sparkling display

of silver, china and crystal will take you

back to a time of elegance, tradition

and fine manners.

Olde Harvest Fair

Historic Stewart Farm

Celebrate food and farming at this fall

fair! Tap your toes to live music, taste

mulled apple cider and shop local

artisans. Jump in the hay pile, hop in a

sack race, make real butter, and play like

pioneers!

Design your own take-home Jack O’

Lantern, go on a spooky scavenger hunt

in the exhibit galleries, and compete for

Take part in the Remembrance Day

ceremony at the Cenotaph, then come in

in World War 1

Join Sharanjit Kaur Sandhra of the Centre

for Indo-Canadian Studies as she shares

the forgotten story of 10 Canadian-Sikh

World War 1.
