Roblon continues to expand into China
and South-East Asia where it first
began selling cable machinery in the
1990s and where it now also sells
industrial fibre products. “We place
great importance on these markets,
since we see a huge future growth in
production capacity and OFC demand
in general,” says Lasse Nielsen, area
sales manager.
The importance which Roblon places
on these markets is reflected by its
participation in local wire shows and
Mr Nielsen, a Danish native and based
at company headquarters in Northern
Denmark, frequently travels throughout
China and neighbouring countries.
Among the trends that Roblon has
observed in the region is an increasing
interest in the use of glass, as opposed
to steel or aramid, as a strength
member.
The region’s overall economic growth
is also signalled by the number of
manufacturers who are investing in
new cable machinery as part of a
general upgrade of their production
lines.
Roblon Industrial Fiber develops and
manufactures high-tech industrial
fibres including glass and aramid
strength members, standard and
water-blocking binder yarns, tapes and
ripcords and is ISO 9001 (quality
