Officine Meccaniche di Lesmo, estab-
lished in 1962, is involved in both the
cable industry and steel wire rope
manufacturing.
The company employs a workforce
with a sound background in the design
of machines for manufacturing in both
fields.
In 2002 Officine Meccaniche di Lesmo
acquired Eurodraw Energy, expanding
its range in rod breakdown and
multi-wire machines.
Lesmo’s production programme
includes: OML: tubular stranders, high
speed bow skip stranders up to
1,600mm diameter; planetary back
twist stranders for electric, telephone,
fibre optic and steel cables; single
twist stranders up to 2,000mm
diameter; rigid cage stranders; drum
twister laying-up/armouring/screening
lines of up to 3,600mm drums and
double twist for steel, copper and
aluminium up to 2,500mm.
EE: rod breakdown aluminium and
copper 1 and 2 wire; special rod break
down with possibility to produce two
different diameters simultaneously,
multiwire machines up to 40 wires,
single automatic spooler, double auto
spooler, automatic basket collectors.
Lesmo is currently working on a N° 5
Double Twist 1,600mm with a 2,500mm
double twister, believed to be the
biggest in world, capable of working
up to 61 wires in copper and
aluminium.
