The need for confidentiality is a key consideration and very much a cornerstone of our service. When entering this process, our clients can be concerned about various parties potentially finding out their business is for sale - employees, customers, suppliers and competitors. Our processes and systems are designed and proven to prevent such problems occurring. Every Knightsbridge team member is fully trained in all aspects of the required confidentiality procedures. Therefore, discretion is assured from the moment of first contact to the moment the transaction is completed.
Levels of confidentiality
Discreet:
Although this would be considered our most ‘lenient’ approach to confidentiality, it provides great exposure for businesses to ensure maximum enquiry levels. This option is particularly suited to clients who are keen to sell quickly.
Confidential:
Assured by insisting all potential buyers sign an NDA before any specific information is released, this level of confidentiality maintains strict privacy throughout the process. Our experienced Deal Executives will make an informed decision about whether further information should be released to a potential buyer.
Non-disclosure agreement
An NDA is a legally binding document between the buyer and Knightsbridge to ensure they adhere to strict criteria regarding confidential information relating to your business.
Highly confidential:
Ensuring that an NDA is signed, you are asked to approve each buyer and authorise the release of any sensitive or confidential information.

Berkhamsted Eyecare
Sector: Healthcare Type of business: Opticians providing a service that focuses on not only meeting clients’ medical needs but also strengthening their confidence. Location: Hertfordshire Motivation for sale: Having built the business over a number of years, the company’s majority shareholder was seeking retirement. Acquirer profile: Jackson & Co Eye Care is a family-owned practice based in Kent. The company offers a diverse range of services from eye care and optometry to ear care and audiology. Marketing strategy: It was clear that sourcing the right buyer was of high importance to the shareholder. To highlight the key points, it was important to showcase the strength of the company’s client base. Negotiation strategy: A diverse research strategy was implemented to pursue both organic and research-based approaches.
Berkhamsted Eyecare presented as a highly attractive opportunity for a synergistic purchase. These high levels of interest acted as an impetus for generating multiple competing offers. Sector: Wholesale Type of business: Best Choice Direct provides convenience products to its 870-strong customer base, which provides a constant stream of reliable income. Location: Staffordshire Motivation for sale: Retirement of the founder of Best Choice Direct whilst enabling further growth and an extended geographic footprint of the company. Acquirer profile: Pentagon Food Group is part of the Khan Group and had previously acquired similar businesses within the Staffordshire region. Best Choice Direct would serve as their next bolt-on acquisition. Marketing strategy: Knightsbridge’s connections enabled the identification of a highly acquisitive buyer, who had previously purchased via our sister company, KBS Corporate. In addition to this, research and organic marketing approaches were also pursued. Negotiation strategy: This approach proved successful, resulting in several meetings and a competitive bidding process.

Sector: Professional laundry services Type of business: Total Laundry specialises in flat linens such as bedding, towels and tablecloths, as well as all types of hospitality linen, domestic linens and specialist garment cleaning such as suits and wedding gowns. Location: West Sussex Motivation for sale: The business was brought to market to expedite the owners’ retirement plans. Acquirer profile: Selsey Laundrette Ltd, which trades as The Little Laundrette, offers full laundry services and is based less than half an hour from Total Laundry. Marketing strategy: It was clear the best course of action was to identify a trade buyer looking to extend their geographic reach. Negotiation strategy: Strong interest was generated and the Knightsbridge team worked diligently to produce three offers following a spirited bidding process.

Sector: Training Provider Type of business: Enterprise4All provides a range of services to business start-ups, to grow and develop strategically. The company had secured a new million-pound contract and was in the process of having its operations extended. It benefits strongly from two long-term public sector clients that provide reliable contracted revenue for the business. Location: Lancashire Motivation for sale: Having developed the business over many years, the majority shareholder was ready to retire. Acquirer profile: Safe Space Talent is a government approved training provider, specialising in digital training and apprenticeships. The London-based business was seeking further growth via acquisition. Marketing strategy: A crossmatch search produced the successful buyer and was supported by Knightsbridge’s database of potentially interested acquirers. Negotiation strategy: Enterprise4All proved highly popular, producing high levels of interest. Knightsbridge was able to identify the five most compatible buyers, who were invited to individual meetings that resulted in four offers on the table.

Negotiation strategy: Etron attracted high levels of interest which resulted in a competitive bidding environment, resulting in securing an offer with an impressive deal multiple. electroplating services. Location: West Sussex
Motivation for sale: Retirement. After building Paragon Plating since 1989, the owner of the business wished to pursue other interests. Acquirer profile: Pratt Sonburg, a family business with close proximity to Paragon Plating. The acquisition presented as the perfect bolt-on opportunity. Marketing strategy: The best approach was to source a local trade buyer who was looking to expand. Negotiation strategy: Once a suitable buyer was found, the process moved incredibly quickly and the sale completed within 16 weeks.
Vendor’s comments: “I was guided through the complicated legal requirements and procedures by the solicitors, whose costs were included in the package. I would like to thank Knightsbridge for all their efforts in concluding a very satisfactory sale.”

The company prides itself on providing a very personal service. Location: Bristol Motivation for sale: After decades of building the business, the owners wished to sell the company to begin their retirements. Acquirer profile: Blast Event Hire, another local family-run event hire company, was seeking further growth. Marketing strategy: The approach was to highlight the company’s long-standing nature and strong financial profile. Negotiation strategy: Following the implementation of a strong research strategy, a suitable buyer was sourced and the deal was completed within months. Vendor’s comments: “We would like to express our gratitude for all the help and support in finding a buyer for our business.

Location: Cambridgeshire Motivation for sale: The decision to sell was made to release money for its shareholders, many of which had invested in the business for decades. Acquirer profile: APAC Group is one the UK’s largest importers and distributors of florist sundries and event decorations. The Group has an enviable client base including multiple blue-chip clients. Marketing strategy: A combination of IS Group’s over 40 years’ experience and reason for sale made the group an exciting opportunity for trade buyers. This formed much of the marketing strategy.
Negotiation strategy: A number of interested parties were identified, which resulted in multiple meetings. This momentum was used to generate a competitive bidding environment.
