Ultrasonic testing with full
immersion control tank
Provea recently delivered a new
ultrasonic testing bench. The main
developments concerned the UT
control tank and the tube conveying
and guidance systems for helical motion
of the tube.
The full immersion control tank is based
on a stainless steel structure featuring
specific guidance parts for tube
axis/sensors. Five ultrasonic sensor
holders are included, with dedicated
and accurate positioning mechanical
settings (longitudinal, transversal
defect detection and wall thickness
measurement). Sensor mapping can be
set on demand.
New electrical positioners have been
added so that settings are registered
in the control panel. For one tube
campaign (OD, WT), positions
of probes can be registered in the
panel. Mechanical settings are called
for a new campaign (eg table height
automatically set). The tank is suitable
for conventional sensor application and
phased array technologies.
3-roll centring and motorised systems
have been designed specifically for the
project, allowing helical motion of the
tube. The pitch chosen is set using
centralised angle rolls. Automated speed
regulation is ensured between each roll
of the unit. The new design also enables
a large tube range capacity. Mechanical
pinions ensure an identical distance
between each pair of rolls in contact
with the tubes.
The global bench also features a
machined up and down table for OD
adjustment, specific software, feeding
and sorting conveyors, storage tables,
and water recirculation system for UT
control. The new developments will be
presented at Tube Düsseldorf.

Complete pipe packages
Mazur Energy produces and supplies
materials with carefully selected steel
plants and organises the production
of pipes for applications as complete
packages within the power industry, and
refining and oil and gas industry. Turnkey
services include engineering, fabrication,
project management, heavy logistics and
consultancy for every project.
The company offers production and
delivery of its own steel products,
in particular boiler pipes in grades
X10CrMoVNb9-1, X10CrWMoVNb9-2
and others working in high temperatures
(creep resistant). The company’s range
also includes design of boiler parts,
piping components, T and Y fittings,

Mazur Energy also offers a wide range
of services, such as technical consulting
during agreement/contract preparation
for realisation of delivery, production and
assembly for constant control/inspection
of fulfilment requirements.
The company manages inspection
and control of technology processes
according to agreement/contract in order
to ensure timely delivery, cost reduction
and final product quality compliant with
customers’ requirements. Other services
consist of tests and diagnostics with
final acceptances by notified bodies,
and additional creep test of creep-
resistant materials (working in high
temperatures). Mazur Energy provides
free preliminary examinations by
portable SFM microscopy for pipeline
life assessment, in order to make a
decision about the necessity of repair,
modernisation or investment.

Precision welded tubes and profiles
1CSC is a producer of precision
welded tubes and profiles according to
EN10305-3 and 10305-5. The company
provides tube solutions including high-
speed cutting to fixed lengths and 3D
laser processing.
In addition to its tube and profile
manufacturing programme, 1CSC
offers services in steel coil cutting and
slitting, laser material processing of
metal sheets, separate pressing up to
3,200kN and automatic CO2 welding.
