3.3.1 ANNUAL DEMAND
As far as the annual average demand is concerned, the graph in Figure 3.14 shows
the expected trend for the countries of the South-North Corridor, the remaining
EU-28 countries and all of EU-28. A slight increase in demand can be observed over
this period, even though the growth rate is expected to decrease.

The ratio of the demand in the countries of the South-North Corridor to the total
EU-28 demand decreases gradually from 47.2% in 2017 to 44.6% in 2037. This
trend can be related to the higher degree of maturity that characterises the countries
of the area with respect to other markets in the rest of EU, which have relatively
younger gas markets and, therefore, higher growth potentials.
