Fill

the

glass

with

fine

ice,

mix

well

with

spoon,

ornament

with

fruits in

season,

and

serve

with

straws.

This

punch

was

first

served

at

the

St.

Charles

Hotel

at

New

Orleans,

La.,

and

is

an

extreme

favorite

with

Southern

people.

Use

a

mixing

glass.

sugar

dissolved

well

in

a

little

seltzer

water.

dashes

of

lemon

juice.

fine

ice.

wine

Tom

gin.

Shake

well,

strain

into

a

fizz

glass,

fill

with

seltzer

water,

and

serve.
